Sustainability
At Yerilla® sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We source our rare Australian Chrysoprase gemstone material through small-scale, artisanal mining that follows regenerative principles to heal and restore the land. Our techniques minimise disturbance to vegetation, soil and wildlife habitats.
Our workforce is small, local and highly skilled to ensure safe, selective extraction of only the most valuable material. We use no harmful chemicals in our extraction process and handle each gem and the earth it comes from with care and respect.
We work with Traditional Owners, the Wongatha People, to preserve indigenous knowledge and sites of significance. We partner with government agencies the West Australian Government, Environmental Protection Agencies, the West Australian Department of Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety to meet the highest environmental standards through monitoring, compliance, and restoration programs.
At Yerilla®, we are committed to leaving the Earth and its beauty better than we found it. Our goal is to pass on a thriving desert ecosystem to future generations. We take our responsibility seriously as custodians of this rare and fragile land that we are privileged to call home. Our gemstones embody the wonder of the region - we honour that with every sustainable choice we make.
